Cookies and Analytics

ProtoSell separates essential storage from optional analytics. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from browsing, signing in, publishing, opening authorized previews, reporting a listing, or contacting a seller.

• Authentication: Supabase session cookies keep you signed in, refresh a session securely, and enforce account access. Removing them signs you out or interrupts protected actions.
• Security: Cloudflare Turnstile and rate-limit systems may use cookies, local storage, or technical identifiers to distinguish legitimate use from automated abuse on protected forms.
• Preferences: the browser stores your light or dark theme and your analytics choice locally so the site can respect them on later visits.

These technologies are not used for third-party advertising. Blocking essential cookies may make account and security features unavailable.

If you select "Allow analytics," ProtoSell loads PostHog only when an approved marketplace event needs to be sent. Our configuration uses in-memory persistence and disables autocapture, automatic page views, page-leave capture, session replay, and person profiles. We do not intentionally send names, emails, phone numbers, seller or listing identifiers, messages, filenames, storage paths, package contents, or fingerprints.

Approved events describe coarse actions such as browsing, opening a preview category, revealing contact, or submitting a listing. The provider may still receive ordinary request data needed to transmit the event, such as time, browser/network information, and IP address. Your choice is stored under protosell:analytics-consent in local storage. Selecting "Essential only" prevents future optional events and clears legacy PostHog browser storage where accessible.

Sentry receives limited technical diagnostics when the application fails, and Better Stack checks service health. These tools support security and reliability rather than advertising. Sentry is configured not to send default personal information, and ProtoSell logging rules redact fields such as authorization data, cookies, passwords, tokens, email, phone, contact details, filenames, and storage paths. Error reports can still contain technical context, so access is restricted and retention is limited.

Most browsers let you inspect and delete cookies and site storage or block them by category. Those controls may remove your sign-in session, theme, and saved preference. Global "Do Not Track" signals are respected by the PostHog client in addition to ProtoSell's explicit analytics choice. You can return to this page at any time to change the ProtoSell setting.
