Acceptable Use Policy

Use ProtoSell lawfully, honestly, safely, and with respect for other people's rights. Do not use the service to cause harm, deceive someone, bypass academic or professional rules, or distribute material you have no right to share.

You must not use ProtoSell to:

• submit or help submit another person's project, code, report, design, data, or media as original work;
• complete a live examination, graded assignment, admissions task, capstone, thesis, competition, certification, or hiring assessment dishonestly;
• evade plagiarism detection, fabricate research or results, falsify authorship, or impersonate a student, instructor, creator, or institution;
• sell leaked assessments, answer keys, restricted course materials, credentials, or work that an institution prohibits from being shared; or
• describe an academic badge as proof of ownership, quality, enrollment status, or permission to submit a project.

Reference, study, critique, repair, adaptation, or reuse may still require attribution, a license, instructor approval, or disclosure of assistance. The user is responsible for checking those requirements.

• Do not upload material copied, leaked, scraped, or obtained without required permission.
• Respect copyright, patent, trademark, design, database, trade-secret, confidentiality, and open-source license obligations.
• Do not expose personal data, private communications, credentials, private keys, access tokens, or confidential institutional or employer material.
• Do not remove ownership notices or use previews to reconstruct or redistribute protected work.
• Do not submit a knowingly false takedown, counter-notice, safety report, or fraud report.

• Do not upload malware, ransomware, spyware, credential stealers, destructive scripts, or intentionally unsafe firmware.
• Do not probe, scan, bypass, overload, reverse engineer, or interfere with accounts, rate limits, previews, signed URLs, storage, APIs, or provider infrastructure except under written authorization.
• Do not automate account creation, scraping, contact reveals, reports, or messaging without written permission.
• Do not evade suspension, moderation, file scanning, size limits, or access controls.
• Do not use ProtoSell for spam, phishing, scams, extortion, harassment, threats, hate, sexual exploitation, or unlawful surveillance.

• Use accurate titles, descriptions, prices, media, condition, test status, and included-item details.
• Do not list stolen, counterfeit, recalled, unlawfully imported, dangerous, weaponized, or prohibited items.
• Do not make fake guarantees, manipulate users, hide known defects, or claim ProtoSell payment, delivery, ownership, or safety protection.
• Do not request passwords, one-time codes, unnecessary identity documents, or payment credentials.
• Do not use another user's contact information outside the legitimate listing conversation or add it to marketing lists.

Do not list or provide instructions for unlawful weapons, explosive devices, harmful biological or chemical systems, bypassing safety controls, or conduct that creates an unreasonable risk of injury or property damage. Batteries, mains voltage, radio transmitters, lasers, pressure systems, rotating machinery, and similar hazards must be disclosed and handled under the Hardware Safety Notice and applicable standards.

ProtoSell may preserve evidence, restrict features, reject or remove listings, suspend accounts, notify affected users, or cooperate with competent authorities when reasonably necessary. Enforcement considers severity, intent, recurrence, risk, available evidence, and applicable law. A failure to act immediately is not approval of the conduct.

Report suspected violations through the listing report control or the Support page. Do not place passwords, payment credentials, or unrelated sensitive data in a report.
